John W. Williams, President
A geologist with 40 years of experience, Dr. Williams is Professor Emeritus of the Department of Geology at San José State University where he served as Department Chair and professor of engineering geology. Before joining San José State, he was a staff geologist with the California Geological Survey. Williams is active in state, regional and national organizations including having served as the President of the National Association of State Boards of Geology (ASBOG®) the Association of Engineering Geologists (AEG), and the Engineering Geology Foundation. He has and continues to serve on many committees of ASBOG® and AEG. He is a licensed geologist, engineering geology, and hydrogeologist in CA and a licensed geologist and engineering geologist in OR.
Mark Taylor, Vice President

Mark has over 35 years of industrial and consulting experience. Trained as a geochemist, his expertise includes minerals exploration and research, mine geology and engineering, hydrogeologic and geotechnical investigations, solid waste management, regulatory negotiations, and expert testimony. His consulting practice focuses on natural resource based industries.

Mark holds a BA degree in geochemistry from Harvard College, and an MSc, also in geochemistry, from The University of Michigan. He serves on the South Carolina Board of Registration for Geologists, and is currently licensed in Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Washington. Mark is president of SynTerra Corporation, an environmental science and engineering consulting company based in Greenville, South Carolina.

Rick L. Ericksen, Treasurer
A geologist with over 35 years experience. He has and continues to work in the oil and gas industry, as well as, the governmental sector - currently as Executive Director of the the Mississippi Board of Registered Professional Geologists. Rick is licensed/registered in Texas and Mississippi and was instrumental in getting legislation passed enacting the MS RPG law, served as the newly created board's first President and later as its first Executive Director. He is a long time member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG) and is a member of its three divisions having served most recently as President of the Division of Professional Affairs (DPA)and has also served on several committees of both the AAPG and the DPA.
Nancy Doelger, Secretary
A licensed geologist with 30 years of experience who recently retired from the Bureau of Land Management in Casper Wyoming. Before joining the BLM in 1986, she worked for Gulf Oil Company and the U.S Geological Survey in Casper, Wyoming and for Shell Oil Company in Midland and Houston, Texas. She is a Past-President of the Wyoming Geological Association, and a member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists and the Geological Society of America. She is currently and member and chairman of the Wyoming Board of Professional Geologists and is a former member and chairman of the Wyoming State Geological Survey Board.
Darrel W. Schmitz, Director
A geologist with 30 years of experience. He is currently a Professor of Geology and Head of the Department of Geosciences at Mississippi State University. Schmitz is active in state, regional and national organizations including serving as the Past President of National Association of State Boards of Geology (ASBOG®) and the Association of Engineering Geologists (AEG), where he is a national Past-President. He is also active on many committees of Geological Society of America (GSA).
Duane A. Eversoll, Director
A licensed geologist with 50 years of experience. A year as a geophysicist with Continental Geophysical Company , 14 years as a bridge geologist with Nebraska Department of Roads, 32 years as a research geologist with the Nebraska Geological Survey at the University of Nebraska, the last 3 years as a retired research geologist and Professor Emeriti. A registered geologist in Nebraska and Wyoming. Past President of ASBOG® and member of the Council of Examiners since 1994. Fellow of Geological Society of America (GSA). Past Chair Engineering Geology Division of GSA. Current research on "Landslides in Nebraska" and geology of Southwestern Nebraska.
